“To get the call from Geoff was awesome,” commented Christiaan on the PGA Tour’s live stream. “Playing for the International Team is a very special experience; there’s nothing else like it. I’m really looking forward to the week.”

Captain Geoff Ogilvy commented: “Bez brings so much to our team. Everybody in the team loves Bez and we’re pumped to have him onboard. He has a strong record, he brings energy to the team, everyone is happy to play with Bez.” 

Christiaan is one of six Captain’s picks, the other five being: Corey Conners, Nick Taylor, Sungjae Im, Ryo Hisatsune and Nico Echavarria. They join automatic qualifiers Si Woo Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, Ryan Fox, Tom Kim, Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott. 

In his previous Presidents Cup appearance at Royal Montreal GC in 2024, Christiaan achieved the notable distinction of securing a winning record (P3-W2-L1). Despite the team loss, it was a special experience for Christiaan, where camaraderie and team spirit created that rare alchemy that simply can’t be replicated in regular tournament golf. Writing on social media that Sunday evening, he commented: “Not enough words to describe this incredible team! Thank you for a lifetime of memories Canada!”
